    Project Manager (all genders) - remote work/German resident

    Ferrous Systems is an IT development service and training provider in the Rust programming language. Founded by members of the Rust project, the company engages in all aspects of Rust development and Open-Source sustainability. Our hallmark product is Ferrocene, the first Rust toolchain for safety- and mission-critical needs.

    We are looking for a Project Manager to plan and coordinate the development steps of the company's safety-critical compiler Ferrocene. The role involves coordinating and collaborating with our technical team, sales and management to set and achieve our project goals. It includes overseeing all aspects of the project and team management. Another important aspect of the role is to provide regular reports to different stakeholders.

    This position can be filled full-time or part-time.

    • Develop comprehensive project plans in close cooperation with our technical & infrastructure lead.
    • Lead our growing project team, assigning tasks and responsibilities.
    • Motivate and guide team members to achieve our project goals.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment in a remote first company.
    • Facilitate regular team meetings and provide status updates.
    • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate or respond to them.
    • Effectively communicate and report project goals, expectations, and progress to internal & external stakeholders.
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans & status reports.
    • Monitor a project timeline, identify and address potential delays.

    Apply to this position if:

    • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a project management role in IT-product development.
    • Experience in managing Open-Source products.
    • Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Flexibility to adjust plans with stakeholders and team members to achieve consensus.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards project goals.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
    • Strong experience in writing reports for different stakeholders.
    • Very good English communication skills.
    • Experience in a remote first work environment.
